Hi I am new to the forum, my new Surly ECR is being assembled now for travel on the GDMBT. Has anyone taken an ECR on the trail? if so how did you like the bike? also any tips on where to stay, great campsites, springs, or any other side trips. Going north to south around mid July starting at Montana Canada border. Thanks

The ACA maps that you'll probably use by themselves or in conjunction with a GPS will show all the campsites along the route aswell as other important ride info.

Bikepacking.net is a great resource for info on the GDMBT and previous trip reports.

The ECR should do just fine, though I would suggest bar ends or something alike to give you other riding position for the long days in the saddle.
