The Georgia Bantam build

We had to wedge it in at the hotel in Panama City our last day. I've gotten pretty good at backing this thing now. I don't see any issues we can't deal with.

We rode through "Tate's Hell" State Forest. I totally forgot to get a picture of the rig in the swamp, but I wanted to post pictures of these cool trees. They are Bald Cypress trees and are being re-introduced into the swamp after almost being wiped out. The look like a forest on Avatar. I've never seen trees so gnarled and rugged looking. Very cool place to visit. I wish we could have gotten some gator pictures while we were there too, but it was high noon and they were hiding out in the dark places. We were taking pictures from a boardwalk built high in the canopy.

I'll spare you the ubiquitous pictures of oysters and beer prior to indulging. LOL

Wow very cool. I'm new here but enjoyed your build and I'm getting inspiration from all the awesome builds I'm seeing here. So I did want to sak, have you come up with an idea on where to mount your Jerry cans? I saw you built the storage racks but didn't mount them that I saw. Are you thinking of spacing them off on the angle faces of your tongue box or mounting them direct on the front lower trailer walls?

I decided against installing them on the outside. I installed tie down points all along the inside of the trailer, so they ride there now. K.I.S.S. I carry to much crap anyway. :)

Sassafras Mountain near Horse Gap.

I had to back in about 100 yards to get to this spot. It was worth it too. Great camp site, but I couldn't get the views in with the truck shots.

Camp up and cooking.

The lighting is terrible but here is the area.

Testing a new tow vehicle, or what lawn tractors dream about?

Nick's cove in the Cohutta Wilderness.

During the night, two heavy thunderstorms came through. It sounded terrible, but the Tepui stayed warm and dry inside. There was just a little condensation under the mat.

Dinner. mmmmmm.

Is that a Chris Reeves that you are using as a fork?

I'm getting around to putting the electrical in now. I started with a 95ahr battery and the usual hardware for a cigarette lighter and USB port hook up. I'll eventually add the shore plug and battery tender, solar charger and inverter. But, for now, I just need to charge phones and small electronic gadgets. I want to add lights and power in the RTT and inside the hull of the trailer. Here are some pics of the set up.

Great looking trailer. On your top could you make the frame work lighter and have it hold the loads of the tent?

If I had it to do again, I'd use 1x1 tubing as interior supports and 14g sheet metal for the skin. I think going lighter than that would be too thin.

Thanks,

I installed the battery tender, solar charging maintainer, inverter and the shore power plug last night. I'm getting my remote box set up for use in the RTT, but my switches haven't arrived yet and I haven't settled on the fixtures I'm going to use for interior and exterior lighting. Here is what it looks like so far.
