Wow. Both the truck and your dog. Your dog lived the life that most dogs could only dream of. You were both fortunate to have found each other. I always offer this bit of wisdom when someone has a pet that passes away. At some point in the future you will find another four legged furry adventure buddy. It might not be now, it might be years from now. However, in their own way, your new buddy will enrich your life, and though the pain of losing Kya will always linger, you will realize that losing Kya made a space in your heart and home for this new special friend. It hurts, and as I write this, I think back to the pals that I have had to see go, but I also feel the breath of the new ones laying at my feet. Take care, and happy adventuring.

Yeah. TSTs with Dynafit for spring summit season and longer tours. Megawatts with Dynafit for winter and deep POW.

Cool, I'm a Hellbent with 18 din turntables on the back of my snowmobile kind of guy- but I am a fan of the TSTs. I bet you can barely feel those with the Dynafits on your feet.

Been a while since I updated. All of the recent Tundra build threads have motivated me to get back at it.......especially the Tub Mod! Who lives nearby and wants to help tackle the Tub Mod? With summer break I have tons of time. I'm just too chicken to try that one on my own!
Biggest add on is the front bumper. February 2014 we are headed up Rt 131 to Steamboat with the snowmobile and skis for some backcountry fun.........tag a deer front drivers side. Cosmetic damage but truck is fine. 10 miles and multiple evasive maneuvers later we hit the second deer, but this time on the front passenger side. We weren't really looking to add a front bumper, I like the stock look, but after the deer hits it seemed logical to put some steal in front of the radiator. After insurance the Addicted Offroad bumper only cost us $150 and I could pick it up down in Ft. Collins my self instead of paying for shipping. Seemed like a no brainer.
Pic of the first deer hit, imagine the same thing on both sides.
Ghetto fix until the bumper is ready. At least I got to practice welding and fabricating brackets.
Garagineering at its best. Not pretty, but it will protect the radiator for a few weeks.
Ahhhhhh, some real fabrication.
Bumper is self supporting now.
Out for a test spin on the local dirt. The only thing I don't like about this set up is the body work showing below the headlights. Stupid washer fluid resevoir prevents trimming that sheet metal away..........at least for now.
We have had the bumper for a year and only one other deer encounter. Driving Rt 24 between Leadville and Buena Vista at 2:00 am on the way to ski Mt. Princeton. This time the stupid deer hit me!
It was worth it! On the summit by 7:00 am. My 20th 14er summit ski decent.
Some mellow wheeling on the way back from skiing Mt. Massive. Not a bad day when you get to ski 3,000 vertical feet of spring corn AND use low range for a few miles.

You can make yer own washer fluid reservoir and put it in the engine bay, I posted a link to someone that did it way back in my build thread. I'd find it for ya if I wasn't on my phone

Not much to update on the truck since it's been doing great. I had to make a few ghetto styled mods (meaning: ugly, simple, and free) before our Colorado to California trip in the area under the camper.
I decided to use this space more efficiently for storage and not have to load unload chairs in and out of the camper. The leveling blocks found a good home too...
All sealed up and ready to go

Love the truck! Very similar setup to what I hope to eventually run on mine.
Were you able to just bolt the Adicted Offroad bumper on or did you have to modify it? Ive been looking at their plate bumper for mine and had heard that there is a difference between the double cab and access cabs in the bumper mount, but no one has been able to tell me what exactly it is and whats required to mount the AC bumper on the DC truck.

Good looking Pitons! Looks like I have a very similar setup, speed turns on a set of Pitons. Wonderful spring touring rig!

Thanks! Yeah the Pitons are solid. This year however I skied my Howitzers all the way into June. Too much fun!
