might have to do some good photos of people in both the newer and older noticed my kid was in both we did a convention recently and bring the chairs for the kids

sorry bad cell phone pics but you can see where his head hits granted he is only about 50 inches tall but gives a idea of the chair sizes

I just bought the original SnowPeak chair, brand new for $90 from backcountry.com. I've tried a few different ones and I thought I really liked it then. However, I'm returning it due to the complete lack of lower back support. I currently have a Helinox and the REI version of the Helinox. I'll be ordering another Helinox and then I'm done, hopefully. I don't like the setup and breakdown time of these chairs but they're light and compact and that matters to me since I'm always short on room on our family trips.

After years of feeling more tired AFTER sitting in my camp chair that before, I queried the Wander the West forum and the overall camp chair of choice is the Strongback Elite. I ordered one and WOW! I'll never go back.

Strongback's got it. I just can't figure out how lumbar support's so expensive to manufacture?

Strongback all the way!! My lovely wife- the ex-ballerina with 3 neck surgeries, two back surgeries, two surgeries on one knee and one on other will not leave the garage for a camping trip 'til she sees the Strongbacks in the back of the Land Cruiser.

Every chair I've ever seen, sat in, or seen talked about on the intergoogle, as a camping specific chair has been junk...in some way. Some are made well, but all have severe problems in the area of design for the human body. Like: forcing you to sit in a bizzarre tilted-back posture, or giving no choice of seating position, the supporting frame bars can be felt through the seat material, etc, etc.

It's not lightweight, not cheap, and not supercompact, but this is car-camping isn't it?

I have two of these coleman sling chairs and they're really comfortable. nice slant to the back, light weight and fold up and come with a storage bag. Target has them online for $36.

per recommendation in this thread, i also picked up a strongback and love it. but that sucker is huge. have to angle it in the hatch area of the wife's highlander.

After 9 years of not-gentle use, in the saddlebags of my motorcycle, the back of our MINIs, Jeeps, Power Wagon, I finally managed to break one of the "curves" on one of my Kermits.
I emailed the owner of the company and he sent a replacement piece for free.

In the camp people need to sit on floor and according to my experience Floor chairs are better for this.

I saw this chair suggested on this site, or another. I had a $25 Amazon gift card so I gave it a shot. No extensive use yet, only sitting outside and watching my 2.5 year old run around. Its very comfortable, compact, and light weight. I was very impressed for $25. There are tons of similar ones on amazon and ebay, but this is the one I read about in another post / forum, and it had good reviews (which I agree with thus far)

Any ideas on whats the best place to buy the Frontrunner chairs in the US? I cant seem to find them at a decent price. Amazon sells them at 75$ plus 12$ shipping badically.

I recall when I read the whole 19 pages of this thread theres someone making the old version? Will that be cheaper?

I purchased my Front Runner Expander chairs and storage bags from http://www.sierraexpeditions.com.
