Ludedude, Pat, and Brian- thanks! :ylsmoke:

Amazing! Great photos, are they taken in a state/ national park?

No- two of the locations are in the Navajo Nation SE of Page AZ. The other location is on BLM land but everyone is a bit secretive about it to prevent it from being closed or becoming a permit only location.

So in the night photo's is all the light from the moon or are you using a flash? Maybe some light painting? I know that I need a better lens for low light but wondering about some of the settings that you might be using in the shots for those situations.

Great Work!

XJBANKER- we did have flashes but after attempting to use them we realized they didn't really add anything to the photos or the scene. We also played with some painting with light by using headlamps.

You can see that a flash was used behind the small sandstone wall attempting to light up the wall in the background.

The light in this image was from a headlamp.

Our setting were all over the place- ISO400-1600 F2.8-5.6 and exposures from 2 seconds to 30 seconds. A lot of it was experimenting to achieve the desired effect.

This sounds like the approach I have taking recently. I'm still learning big time and I have not achieved the results I see in my mind but I keep trying different parameters. I assume with time and practice I'll narrow in on what I am seeking with night time photography.

You might have been trying different options but your results are are outstanding. :victory:
