So what's thstatus of the rig? Is she home yet or still in SoCal? Headgasket or something else? Just wondering as I haven't seen you post anything.

I talked to him last night and it is still in SoCal. He is heading down today to retrieve it. He was going to be making a call today and that will decide whether or not he brings it home or takes it to LC Engineering. And yes it was the HG.

Bman...good to hear from you. No, I haven't posted as not only did my headgasket explode, but my computer did too! Its been a fine month. I limped to SoCal where I left it and flew home. As I was calling around to shops I called LC Engineering for some head work. I figured I might as well have some headwork done while it was off. It turns out LC was looking for an 80 series with the TRD supercharger as they just bought the rights for the supercharger from TRD-alpine superchargers. We made a deal and it was towed back to AZ to havasu to be worked on. The only catch is they are going to have it for about two months...I appreciate the help and concern. If any of you are in reno and need something please don't hesitate to let me know...

Very nice. I love the sea dweller too. People always talk about the cost, but when you think about how long they last the cost seems to be put into perspective....mine is going strong after 17 years. Its another piece of gear and like anything you get what you pay for. I've worn mine just about everyday since I bought it.
Mine will be handed down to my son. There's not too many things made in this day that you can leave to your kids. My rolie is one of them for sure.

Well sounds like you had one helluva weekend. It was great to get a chance to meet ya. It sucks that things went down the way they did but hey... it happens. Hopefully next time we'll get a chance to hang out and drink some beers. Good to hear that you've got the "Hook Up" with the guys at LCE, as I've heard good things about them.

Keep us informed with progress posts!

Next year for sure...we'll have to wait and see how the LC thing works out. I'm curious as to see what happens when they tear into it. I was going to do the gasket and stuff in my garage, but the offer was an interesting one. I'd love to throw down some drinks with you. I'll let you know next time I'm down there.

Details man, what was their offer? What are they going to be doing? I know you had mentioned ECM tuning, but what else?

they said they would replace the head gasket for free, in return I need to allow them use of my cruiser for two months. They needed a TRD Supercharged cruiser to write a unichip program and some sort of fuel mapping software. They are also talking about adding a 7th injector to eliminate the pinging detonation issue. We'll have to see how it turns out...My luck, I'll have a cracked block or something that will kill this deal. Usually I'm not this lucky.

Yeah a friend of mine has had his Rolex Submariner for 23 years, and has been through 7 cars and still has the same Rolex. Price of car versus price of a Rolex - Rolex initially expensive, but is less and less expensive over time. Not to mention you can send it in and have it refurbished every 5 years for $500 and basically have a new watch back from Rolex after your service.

I hate to think of how many different vehicles I've owned in the past seventeen years...I stopped counting at sixteen if you count the two different harleys as vehicles. Everything from classic broncos to cj-8's to a cobra mustang...to my over the top unlimited. They are all gone, but the time piece remains...besides, the rollie can't blow a head gasket 30 miles away from the TROPHY!!!

Very cool Jeremy! I am beginning to look for a FZJ80 myself. Probably will keep my Jeep still.
