Nice...
Thanks, I got them for next to nothing with some garbage tyres on them, cleaned them up with some paint and they're much better. I fear for the valve getting bust off as it comes through from behind the spokes and is a bit vulnerablelove those wheels.
I didn't get around to it, and ideally I should because I've the boost and fuelling wound up a fair bit. Might drill a hole in the EGR blanking plate and put a thermocouple in there to see what kind of temperature I get, I know when I wrecked the last engine I was towing a huge trailer up a slightly long Hill with my foot buried into the floor on the loud pedal. It started leaking coolant again so I'm being hyper vigilant on it these daysLooks awesome and makes me miss my shorty. Quick question - did you ever install a pyrometer (EGT) gauge? On my 4M40 that was an important gauge for me when towing my trailer in the rocky mountains. It acted like a distant early warning when the temp was rising. I could stave off engine overheating by pulling over and letting it cool down a bit on the EGT before it ever affected the coolant temp. Most important gauge IMHO. Maybe you installed one early on in your thread and I missed it, but if not, cheap insurance against another overheat.
Cheers and happy wheeling!
