While I still work on the “plank” attachment method I did some more fabrication on the front corners of the flat deck!

With the front corners now completed, it was time to install the simple little Noco 15A power inlet to clean up the install of the Noco float charger. I love these simple little inlets!

With the front and back corners of the bed completed, It was time to install the marker lights… I like to keep things simple, and that’s what these lights are!!


These marker lights are super easy to install! (and not expensive!)

One thing I wanted to be sure didn’t stop us dead in our tracks later was the fuel pump. Having witnessed a catastrophic failure first hand (and a big mess of diesel) this seemed to be an obvious easy “maintenance” item to swap out!

As seen in previous videos, I have a good code reader for this truck, however I knew there was a way to read codes without using the code reader. Here, I’ve gone through a quick navigation of how to do that. Not super complicated, but worth knowing how to do so you can read roadside if you get in a pinch!

You know when you start working on something, and you find something else, completely different from what you were working on? I was changing out the bump stops and made a quite shocking (literally) discovery, meaning that something is very “not right”!


A simple bump stop swap job gets completely derailed with a shocking discovery....

Unfortunately, finding the issue above was just the start - actually finding the source was going to take more work. I’m pretty confident in my troubleshooting abilities, and didn’t feel overwhelmed tackling locating the source of the issue.

I was on a bit of a 3D printer kick, so I decided to see if I could improve the switch options in the cab. Really happy with the direction this is going, as now I will have a nice switch panel, and a much better radio interface!

Since it sort of feels like I’ll be done the floor structure soon, I wanted to start working on the lift system - that will allow me to take the habitat box off the flat bed. I purchased these trailer tongue jacks, and I know they will be very capable, but I want to be able to control all 4 together once they are all set to the right height...
