The Oshkosh P-19 (Project Dingo)

Cool project. What’s it like driving so far in front of the front wheels?

It certainly takes some getting used to turning, definitely have to use the mirrors. For the most part it is very different, but in a good way. It is very quiet since the engine is in the back. The suspension is pretty good, definitely would like an air ride seat. When this snow melts I will be back at it.

New brake chambers installed! No more coolant leaks and a new thermostat. 5 miles of driving and over an hour of run time on and off road to make sure everything does what it is supposed to.

looks like you still have the outdoor shower mounted over the cab, cold water only or are you planning to upgrade that?

Once the brakes are all fixed up without any leaks it is going on a 30 mile trip to the shop where the expedition vehicle build will take place. Then all that pesky fire fighting stuff will go away. Hopefully it will make the move in the next week. Waiting on two parts, a relay valve for the rear brakes and a fitting for the new quick release valve.

Why the name "Dingo"?
"The dingo is a medium-sized canine that possesses a lean, hardy body adapted for speed, agility, and stamina. The dingo's three main coat colourations are light ginger or tan, black and tan, or creamy white."
