Same goes for me. I'm trying to justify buying my mom an EV just because I'm tired of working on her high mileage Lexus 🤣I don’t think that’s true, looking good means different things to different people. I’d love to never again have to hassle with oil changes and crap like that.
Think EV is the way to go for the wifes next vehicle. She hates.... HATES getting gas. She works from home but drives our youngest kiddo to and from school. That's the extent of her driving for the most part., lol Kiddo is in grade 12 so that part of her driving will be over soon. We've only got 15,000 miles on her 2022 Bronco Sport. And that includes a few road trips. So a EV could easily work for her.Same goes for me. I'm trying to justify buying my mom an EV just because I'm tired of working on her high mileage Lexus 🤣
At least the new Scout looks good. The Scout was probably my least favorite International truck so that might swing my opinion some too.
Have you driven anything electric? Leaving aside all the various arguments about cost, environment, charge times, etc that always come up I’d take an electric drivetrain over ICE all day. It’s an objectively superior solution to vehicle propulsion.
I don’t have anything against EV’s, but since we’re on an offroad site, it simple doesn’t work for me.
Daily errands and schlepping kids around? Sure.
But when I’m out there?……

That has nothing to do with the drivetrain, the point of my post. Thats a range concern, one which can be solved even if by a fairly rudimentary gas engine generator being installed.
It would be interesting to see the take rate for that option. For me, that's the only way I could make an EV work.I wonder how many of the pre orders are with the Harvester option which is the gas generator to extend the range. Both of mine are and the half dozen buddies that ordered them got it too.
