The start of "Project Blackwater"

Well I got it home tonight after sorting out a wiring issue. 155,000mi, SE7, cold a/c, no rips in the leather, good paint, working low range, bald tires, and a new Yellow Top. Needs a windscreen and a serious detailing. All for $1,000

The goal as hinted in the poject name is to build a rig for exploring Blackwater State Park and camping. So lots of trails, water crossings, and wash outs. I am going to move my winch bumper over off the Classic with the M8000. I am thinking a Terraferma suspension with alittle bit larger tires, fridge, new steering stabilizer, on-board air system, water tank, Blue Top battery with solar charger so the fridge and extra lighting used for camping are on their own circuit, snorkel, and maybe a water purification system (much later date). Saturday I get the money from the Classic sale and with that the suspension get ordered and the new tires go on early next week.

Starting tomorrow I am doing the fluids and other PM, new plugs and a seious degreasing. Maybe get started detailing.

Heres some night shots better ones tomorrow

Unless the law has changed, you can get a replacement windshield for free under FL law. I've had one replaced on my old truck under that

Oh, ok. If you paint them black post up pictures. My wheels are pretty rough and I need to repaint them. Haven't decided if black would look good on a dark blue truck though (mine is similar color to yours)

Im going no on the wheels. I played around in photoshop and it looks bad. :Wow1:

According to the dealer I have a 50th Aniversery edition? I had them run the trucks details this morning and that what came up? Any truth to that?

Around my area project Blackwater has a little different meaning as Blackwater (now known as Xe) is just up the road. I was picturing a matte black, zombie survival rig!

I do recall that Land Rover had a "50th" decal on the windows but I'm not sure if that included a specific model or some sort of trim package.

You going for swampers on those wheels?

Nice boat!

Well tonight went ok. I got the diff and motor oil change, and all the filters. Tomorrow I am degreasing, then I plan on doing the transfer case and transmission. I am replacing the belt and alternator tomorrow. Alternator is under warranty so no big worry. Took it for a good test drive today. Shifts smooth, CDL engages without effort, and the locks work. Radio wont take the code though.
