Yes, I think it is definitely 100% x10. :)

Sent you a return PM.

75lbs works good if you have a heavy roof with solar etc.

But if you have an empty roof then 40 pounds seems to be what is needed. My SS struts are 50 lb and they are a bit stiff, although they are still new and only have a few compression cycles on them. I did notice that the struts do seem to soften up with a little use. I might also be adding a set or two of MaxTrax to the roof and then I will want the added lifting strength of the 50lb'ers.

OK, You talked me into it. I think I might want mine on the exterior though. More things to think about.

Nice work on the camper today! Like panel. Looks good! :sombrero:

More work done on the camper.

Did a lot in the propane locker, mounting the regulator and routing of lines and valves.

More wiring work, wired the propane solenoid and hob igniter.

And mounted the exterior trash/other bin.

I had a question about the propane solenoid.

Once I finished wiring it I turned it on and off a couple of times, and I could not hear it working. The switch at the electrical panel makes a click, but nothing from the solenoid itself. I feel I should hear something from the solenoid.

The lines are not pressurized, is that what is missing from the equation?

Thanks for any help.

The regulator probebly senses the rapid change as a leak that's apparently how they work have you tried engaging the solenoid and waiting like 5 mins for the safety on the regulator to disengage and allow the lines past the solenoid to pressurize ?

Tardis- I saw this rig at Outdoor Retailer trade show in Salt Lake last week and thought it had some great features that Four Wheel should have a close look at- the roof design has a interesting "lift panel" and the interior structure of the roof allows for an extremely functional use of drilled out holes / anchor points - it's a very modular minimalist aproach which I really liked- I know the lift panel is different on a Four wheel camper but there are some engineering elements here worth a serious look at that could save weight- in case the link doesn't work go watch the videos at www.crickettrailer.com -

Door Holder

With the added jerry can holder and trash bin on the rear of the camper the factory door holder no longer had a job to do, so I removed it.

After a couple of tries, I think I have found a solution for a replacement door holder. I just ordered it, so time will tell if it fits properly.

I am enjoying the variety of places I am ordering pieces for the camper from. The door holders are coming from the Horse Trailer Accessory Store. Link There are about a dozen different door holders on that page, in a variety of sizes.

OH, First thanks for the thread! I check in regularly and I have learned a lot. I have ordered the AT Gas Can Holder. The shipping was outrageous! But I guess if you wanna dance ..... you gotta pay the piper. I will likely imitate your design (A cold beverage is on me if we ever cross paths)

Couple of questions:
1. Did your door open against the Gas Can Holder?
2.If you were to change any thing with your installation of the Gas Can what would it be?
3. Reading the post on the build thread you posted about Hadley I have to ask why you went with the Stebel Horn?

Hi RMan. Thanks for the kind words about my work on this camper. I hope we cross paths, it is a small world. Remind me what kind of truck you have, and I will keep an eye out for ya.

Answers.
1. Yes. I think this is the case even on the wider models, e.g. Hawk, but I am not sure.
2. So far I am happy with how I installed the holders, they are solid and should hold up over time.
3. The Stebel horn was an impulse buy, and I always like having a project. It is way louder than the stock horn, people know when I am honking at them, and I like that. I would do it again.

Installed the carbon monoxide alarm. :)

It is mounted, wired, switched (if it goes bonkers it can easily be switched off), and activated/tested.

Mounted it as high as possible, and as far away from the hob as possible. It is also supposed to be in the open air as much as possible, and while it is in a corner, it is in an open corner.

This should be the last of the wiring in the camper. I can now finish installing the electrical panel, and close up the wall that I opened up.

I think I will add an extra layer of insulation in/on the wall that I opened. It will be the wall that I will spend most of my time against, as it is the wall next to the stealth bed couch. So it will be worth it to have it more insulated than the others.

Installed the new door holder, and this one works great!

I was a bit worried if the door trim would be solid enough for mounting the bracket to. But it is solid, the aluminum box flexes before the door shows any flex.

Hadley,

Looks like you mounted the "keeper" portion of your new door holder to the trash/other bin?
This solution could be something that would work well for my set up also.
Is the keeper portion a spring loaded pin mechanism?
Does the "arm" portion of the holder stay put/not bounce around on trails?
BTW, the Tardis is coming along quite nicely...:coffee:

Yes.

I have an extra door holder set with a 4'' arm. PM if you are interested in it.

Yes.

I did think about mounting it with a small piece of rubber behind the ball so it would not float freely. But I decided that if it does bounce around it would be okay as the arm is only 2'' long. I might change my mind at some point and put a small piece of rubber behind the ball to stiffen up the movement.

BTW, the Tardis is coming along quite nicely...:coffee:

Thank you. :)
