Thanks for all the great comments. We are off again this weekend to camp with my parents. We are taking the M416 and the tent this time. The trailer is actually theirs, and they will be using it. Boy it's nice being a school teacher in the summer.

Nice truck. I love the color. I'm looking forward on getting my own though with limited budget, I'll have to get one 10 years old or more.

The front bumper I would love to have, would be a modified ARB Bull bar that was intended for a Landcruiser 100 series. I just really like how they look. Maybe you could make a kit that adapted the ARB to the Tundra. ;);)

Tour Guide
I have time off in October and I am planning a trip in Utah. I hope to take my 4 year old son and some friends with me.

Here is the Route:
Leave Price, Utah Wednesday the 19th early afternoon and do the following loop by Saturday afternoon on the 22nd.
Head south on Hwy 10 to I-70.
Take I-70 west to Sigurd.
Take Hwy. 24 south to Hwy. 62 then south Antimony.
At Antimony continue south to Hwy. 12 just north of Bryce Canyon NP.
Take Hwy. 12 to Cannonville and then on to Kodachrome Basin State Park.
Follow this dirt route southeast through the Grand Staircase NM to Hwy. 89.
Here I turn east to Big Water Ut.
From Big Water it is northeast to into the Grand Staircase NM to Alstrom point. (I believe this point is named for some of my ancestors who help settle Tropic UT. and had the same last name. This will require further research.)
From this point my route would them turn north for home.
I would take the road through the GSNM to Escalante.
Then east on Hwy. 12 to Boulder.
From Boulder east on the Burr Trail.
At the bottom of the switch backs there is a juntion that heads me north on the east side of Capital Reef NP. Towards UT Hwy 24.
A few miles south of Hwy 24, there is a spur that heads northeast.
When it reaches asphalt I will be able to cross over onto Wild Horse Mesa and follow this route northeast to Goblin Valley SP.
Here I will get onto Temple Mountain Rd. which I will follow to I-70.
At this point I will cross I-70 to Buck Horn Flat Rd. which travels through the center of the San Rafael Swell.
The route reaches asphalt about 20 miles south of my house.
I have attached a map of the route. I am about 90% that this trip is a go. Wish me luck.

Haven't posted in a while

I haven't posted anything about the truck in a while. That's because nothing has been done to it. However I have taken a summer job at a scout camp, and the other day we were evacuated due to a forest fire in the area. I included some shots of the the fire. Due to the evacuation I pulled out a 36' camp trailer without having an equilzer hitch. I had plenty of engine, just not the suspension. I hauled it about 15+- miles. I was careful but did finally hit about 55 mph. The shots of my bumper show the damage from hitting a deer last saturday. Not bad considering that we were going about 60 mph when we hit it. I was able to put it back together pretty well. The crack is less visible since this photo, because I wired it closed with a heavier wire.

A few pictures from this summer

Well like my last post, nothing done to the truck, besides brakes and rack bushings. Not exciting. However we have put it to good use of late. We went to the Great Basin National Park in August, and then last weekend we visited Calf Creek Rec. Area near Boulder Utah. The drive there was amazing. We traveled over Boulder Mt, and the fall colors were awesome. So here are some pictures of the family and the views.

Due to the picture limit, the first post has only the pictures from the GBNP. Here are the pictures from Boulder Mt. and Calf Creek Recreaton Area last weekend.

Well, I thought that this weekend I would be showing you all my pop up camper. However, I decided that if I purchased the camper then I'd have no money to go and use it so I have put it off. I just hope that when, if ever, I am really able to purchase a camper there is a nice one in my price range. It was really hard to turn this one down. I hate being broke, but I picked being a public school teacher. i knew what I would earn before I went to college. Sometimes I just wished I had followed my brothers. They are an attorney, dentist, ears nose and throat Surgeon, and anesthesiologist. They could all afford a new camper. Well at least my tent keeps me dry.
