Yep. The "swing II", surprisingly good, 6psi helps.

Jeezus...Apparently aging turns you into a blithering fool. I sat looking at that pic trying to figure out what that name/language was and turning it over to read it never clicked. Derrrr I think is the only reasonable response.

I almost bought one of those from LL Bean when I was in their Freeport store last summer (on sale) but ended up buying a Fattie instead. After we packed it in for the camping season I bought an Advanced Frame, at the tail end of summer, and have yet to get it on the water.

Yeah the inflatables are getting much better (more rigid). No complaints here.

Headed back up the west coast now:

Moar Fuel

Baja made one shortcoming all too clear; fuel capacity. It got old in Utah and Nevada, but then really got old rolling up 100mi unknown dirt roads down there. So its out with the old, and hello to 48 gallons! Yes please.

The Toyota Prado in Oz is available with a 40 gallon tank and a diesel engine for the exact reasons you stated above. In the US, no diesel and only a 23 gallon tank because it's a flippin' soccer mom mobile here.

What range do yo expect with 48 gallons over varied terrain (on/off road)?

I picked it up from Agile on my way back north. It's well built and has a skid plate on the bottom. Can't wait to finally give the van some legs.

Range is so variable... There's "normal" and then there's all the unplanned stuff. I'm thinking it should get ~650mi in normal conditions.

I have 55 gallons on my smd and it's great. I did Kelly point on the Grand Canyon and came out with 3/4 tank and never shut the van off while clearing trees.

Who sells this beast? Need.

Disregard as my browser hadn't refreshed to show the responses above!

Nate, would you have any pics of how you adapted your emergency brake cables from the sterling to the original van cable, please. Thank you!

No problem. Note that the "perfect" way to do this would be with two threaded couplers and locknuts. I went the quick and dirty route because it was literally the last thing I did on the conversion and was excited to get the van on the road! This is just an extension using a threaded rod, two nuts for alignment, and a quick weld. It's ugly, so I only half admit that it's my doing... :costumed-smiley-007
