Think I saw the new JL...and pickup version today

Went out at lunch and literally tip toed up to the front and snapped a couple of pics underneath the cover (security guard was behind the vehicles). They came out pretty bad, but I can confirm 100% one of them is a Wrangler. The pickup looks like an HD Colorado or Canyon though. Came back from lunch and there was a guy in a running pickup directly parked in front of the Wrangler so maybe someone saw me sneak up. Not going to lie I felt like a teenager about to get busted for something I'll upload the pics soon.

Up close pic - definitely a Wrangler:

Only clean pic I got putting my phone underneath the cover:

This one is of the pickup - pretty sure it's an HD GMC Canyon or Chevy Colorado:

Definitely not JL pickups under there, but that first one certainly screams jeep and it may be the tarp, but the front grill does appear to have have the rumored "more angle/steamline" grill and windshield

edit: What is that above the axle?
edit 2: Electric motor for the rumored hybrid?

Nice. You have more balls than I would have!

I'm going to throw out there the idea of the tarp-covered pickup being a more off-road friendly version of the Colorado, or something similar. The Trail Boss comes from the factory with Duratracs, and those definitely look like they could be GM wheels, so perhaps they're testing the ZR2 they showed a few years back?

I'd also wager that the Jeep, if it is the upcoming JL, is masked in JK body in order to prevent any potential accidental slip-ups...

This is what the truck profile looks like to me....

That's exactly what I'm thinking (& hoping!) Diesel, King suspension, Duratracs, hidden winch, lockers, etc...could be a hell of a package (perhaps a baby Power Wagon?)

No baby PW. Doesn't have solid axle so will lack articulation of PW with sway bar disconnect. But still a pretty awesome looking vehicle. :)

Any guesses what that is bolted to the center of the front axle on the wrangler? (bolt head is marked with blue paint)

Definitely a steering stabilizer that hangs below the axle. I notice it's got the Pentastar "loop" in the exhaust. I don't think that's a Dana 30 or 44 frontend though. Maybe FCA is going to an AAM set of axles.

When I lived in Denver area, I regularly saw camo'd vehicles up on top of the Mt Evans highway for high altitude testing. The upcoming new Ford Ranger was up there last summer.
