mistubishi mam gold DVD-R for archival. shelf life is projected to be 300 years in environmentally controlled storage. tests with lots of humidity and heat cycling have shown very low error rates for a projected 100 years. I still shoot primarily with film, but there's no sense in ignoring digital archival if you have good scans.

I know I am gonna get flamed here but my first statement to say is I hate Aperture. That being said I will confess to being a CS4 user. I like many other started with elements and moved on to the bigger program. Between portraits and landscapes I take on average 3000-4000 images a month, which means I am on my computer a lot for processing. Lightroom for basic changes, organization, and speed can't be beat IMO. but to really dig into an image photoshop CS is where it is and about 97% of professional photographers use it and lightroom combined more than any other product on the market. Also for portrait people "Portrait Professional" is pretty powerful when linked to PS

Hey John, got a question for you. I had a friend who bought Portrait Professional 8 and only installed it on one of her cpu's. I had a program that I had bought and only installed it on one of my cpu's and both programs came with a 2 cpu install so we swapped and shared the programs.

I've yet to use the PP8 because to be honest I havent had any shoots that involve people in a long time.

You say when linked to PS? Do the two programs link up together or did you just mean when using them in unison?

I just shot a wedding over the weekend and was going to start working on the photos tomorrow and was planning on using the PP8 to see if I could work some magic for the bride.

I'd love any tips on how the two work if they do work together?

PP comes as either a full program or a plug in for PS or other products. I was just introduced to it myself and about fell off the bench when i seen how quick it was to edit faces eyes and hair as well as skin tones. great program

So if I have the full version, can I still open it up within PS, or do I have to open it up as a seperate program?
