Just installed a pelfreybilt aluminum Bumper and 10k winch. Coming from an ARB, its a huge improvement weight wise. My current set-up (with a winch) is under 100 lbs. I installed the entire thing myself.
My previous ARB set-up on my '07 was over 150 lbs (Not sure exactly how heavy it was).
Now, if I were consistently relying on my bumper for bashing rocks and hitting other objects, I would have considered putting an ARB on my '13.
But, I am willing to admit that 98% of my driving on the road and I want to be more weight conscious this time around. Also, having to keep the front (Stock) bumper and cut it, plus how big ARB had to make the bumper for 2012-2015 was a deal breaker for me.
All-in-all I am happy with transitioning to aluminum (also have aluminum skids). The weight savings is noticeable during braking (which is VERY noticeable as you add weight to a Tacoma) and acceleration.
Strength wise is TBD, pending climbing trips to Moab this spring/summer.
