Tint Camper Shell Sliding Window

Hi all, first post. did search but no luck on this subject.

Does anyone know how to tint these windows on a camper shell? Do all the screws need to come off to do it without the window falling out the other side?
The back sliding window closest to the tail gate has a screen over it.

I can do the tint but just need to gain access to that back window.

thanks in advance for the help!

The easiest way to apply mylar tint is to have the glass out of the vehicle and laying on a soft but firm surface. Low nap carpet laid on a work bench works well for this. When dealing with a curved window the advantage of having it out is somewhat lost.

All of the screws will need to come out, and then you'll likely need to partly disassemble the frames to get at the glass. Easiest is to use a cordless screw driver with the appropriate tooling to remove those screws. Once you have the screws out, the frames will only be held in place by what ever sealant was used when they were installed. This is a good time to upgrade that too. I used 3M 5200 on my old Ribbit pick-up's shell. Short of a heat gun those frames are not coming out easily, screws or not.

Thank you. I undertook this little project this weekend. I removed all the screws and removed the interior frame which also clamps the window onto the fiberglass. I did not remove the window however although I can see it would have made life easier. Once I removed the frame, I was able to remove the rubber strip that holds down the screen on the rear window. I installed the tint, no easy job by the way, reinstalled the screen and frame. Cutting around the curved part is really tricky and required a fresh blade every time. It's not a professional job by any means. Since the windows themselves already had a light tint, you cannot tell from the outside where it was not perfect to say the least. I estimate the two rears tooks me 3.5 hrs and the two fronts took 2hrs. This was my first time ever tinting too. Total material cost was $40.00 as opposed to paying someone $130.
