Tire chains

I was interested in buying some Clothier tire chains later on this year and the website isn't working. Does anyone know if it is still in business or of another custom tire chain maker? I know that tirechains.com has some chains in 37x13.50 but I would prefer a heavier duty chain with more cross chains.

I hear you. I also tried to access their website with no success. I figured they must be out of business or went to a different place (such as Facebook, etc..?) to do business ? Heck, I'm lucky i can use a computer, lol, I don't do anything else. Clothier was the ONLY manufacturer to put cross chains every 2 links---instead of every 4 links, like everyone else, that i know of.

These seem HD.

Also make sure that whichever ones you go with that they have the center links(the links that attach in the center of the tire tread between the cross chains) as well for lateral traction, similar to the ones used on skid steers. A good v-bar would work as well http://www.tirechain.com/VBAR.htm

Sheller which chains did you get and what did they price run?
I was looking at some Pewags in the ASV style (heavy duty with cross chains) and it seemed like pricing was $1200usd/pair (ie. to do two tires only).

I'm more leaning towards some square link chain, at least 7mm, 8mm if possible. The square link will not wear as fast on snow/ice roads, and will be more than enough additional traction off road.
I also want cross chains every 2nd link, as that really does increase the traction immensely (vs the 4 link....less cross chains).

Lebowski, I went with the Glacier brand heavy duty with v-bar. They ran me considerably cheaper. Can't recall the price. When I move to a full size with camper, I'll get the Pewag Star stud, NOT cheap lol
