that does look nice, the swing-out makes it more functional than the CBI carrier ( http://www.cbioffroadfab.com/ ) but also over 2x the cost.

Right in the opening animation, msrp $690. Who knows what it will really cost though ...

Cool product - although I would have serious concerns about it's ability to remain rattle and crack free on the trail.

I've also moved this thread over to the General Vehicle modification section as this mod can apply to more then just Toyotas

I remember calling those folks about the product when they first had teaser photos. They seemed unconcerned that the unreasonably high price would drastically limit their sales.

I very much like the CBI unit. I didn't see any prices on it though. It looks a lot more stable than the Tiregate.

That's one of the things I noticed immediately. Those lower bars really would hang up on some of the stuff I traverse.

Looking at the Pre-Runner series, I wonder if they have Total Chaos' OK to show those bedside steekers?
The distance btwn the pivot and the latch pin of the CBI unit is short enough to give me some concerns. This problem seems to be the achilles heel of nearly every drop-down type of design.
