To sway or not, that is the question

My first question would be: What sort of problems are you getting with your sway bars now? How are they limiting you?

If you aren't having any problems or issues now regarding the bars I'd leave them be.

Real world experience: On the wife's '95 YJ we disconnected the front sway bar while ascending Red Cone. The bolts got banged up and bent so we never reconnected it, and drove it for 2+ years afterwards with no front sway bar connected.

No problems or issues but then again, it WAS a YJ which meant it handled like a grocery cart even when the sway bars were attached. It was also a 4 cyl so it's not like we were going anywhere in a hurry.
 
Remember, only one side of the anti-sway bar needs to be disconnected. The connected side will just float. This saves you some time on both ends. Have some sturdy zip-ties along to tie up the disconnected end to the rest of the sway bar arm and cut it off when reattaching.
