Tour de Plateau

Just returned from 14 days on the Colorado Plateau... Great trip with challenging weather, good food, great friends and lots of miles... 2300 to be exact...

The first 4 days of the trip were solo and I covered a lot of territory... From the Western Shores of Powell all the way to Moab.

So, in no particular order...

A cold, wet start to a desert trip...

A nice camp overlooking Lockhart Basin...

Coming up Bobby's Hole.

Second truck into Salt Creek for the season... Horse Canyon was impossible without a tractor.

That mythical place they call Canyonlands...

Deep in lake Canyon.

These photos do the plateau no justice... But, thank you for the kind words...

I would snap a picture, review it and be so frustrated that I was coming no where near the grandeur that was spilled before me.

I know the feeling and don't have nearly the quality of camera equipment you have... great stuff either way!

:arabia:

How about some info on the trip?

nice job on the photography! would really love to hear you talk about the trip

how much of that 2300 miles was off the tarmac?
difficulties encountered?
see a lot of people?
trip points and locations?
14 days? did you spend each night on the ground or periodically tent?
weather? conditions on the trails?
cost? fuel alone must have been around $1500?
what did you use for the night photos?

fantastic photo gallery, would love some information to accompany them

thanks for sharing!

think if some of the above info was included others might think these types of trips are more attainable. For me, the type of people who surf Expo are the kind of people you want to meet on the trail and it is great to see Rovers in an American landscape :punk03:

Your photos make me want to be there right now :wavey:

Still one of my top five favorite places in the USA
