Towing with Jeep Grand Cherokee

Hi. I'm new to towing and overlanding. I have a 2018 Jeep GC Trailhawk ecodiesel. It looks like the hitch height is 21" when driving and my Schutt XV-2 is 24" coupler height. However, if I'm offroading the Jeep has two off-road settings that lift the Jeep. Is anyone familiar with this? Can I tow with the Jeep in off-road mode? What kind of receiver/drop/rise do you recommend given the different heights? Thanks.

Welcome!

What does the owner's manual say about towing? That's the first place I'd check about suspension settings while towing.

Once you have that figured out, you can determine what drawbar will offer the correct tongue height.

Thanks. Yes, I checked out the manual. It doesn't say anything about the Quadra-Lift and towing. I guess that means there is no issue towing with it lifted. Perhaps I need to get a hitch joint that allows me to select different heights.

I tow my small cargo trailer with my ecodiesel. I have Quadra-Lift and have never had any problems on or off road. I bought an adjustable hitch from Harbor Freight to settle the height differences. I replaced the pins with grade 8 bolts. I also purchased a hitch tightener. It stops the jerking. The Grand Cherokee unibody can transfer vibrations from starting and stopping all the way to the front seats without the tightener. I think I bought it from amazon.
