86 Ext 4x4 converted to Chinook. Be one of the few with a 4x4 Chinook!
I started with a 79 Chinook shell. I extended the WB of the 86 about 10" to accept the Chinook. I relocated shock brackets and had driveshaft rebuilt. The truck has 22RE/auto. Runs well.
The Chinook is bare. Ready to build how you please inside. I reinforced the floor mounts. 2x6 treated wood spans from bed mounts. So it gives more structure to the floor.
The fiberglass has a few repair spots around it. But overall it's in good shape. I can go more into detail later. The top is in decent shape. I've added some support bars across the top that add a lot of rigidity and strength. They also double as a roof rack. The canvas is dirty but good shape.
I've got a few things to wrap up (new shocks need bolted up, roof bars are painted just need installed and finish trim/seal around front of cab/shell mount.
I am asking $8k. In Tulsa,ok. Message if your interested. Thank

Somewhat surprised by the lack of commentary on this. Looks like a sweet setup. I've seen a number of different threads extolling the virtues of this sort of setup. Here's one that's not entirely dissimilar. I'm curious to hear feedback from some of the others on the forum as to what they think the pros and cons of this setup are? Are there likely to be issues with the camper off road? I imagine there would need to be a reasonable amount of movement possible so as not to crack the camper.

To OilCapital - what sort of mpg do you get with this unit in its current configuration? I imagine we'd all love a little more detail about the setup, and what still needs doing to get it expedition ready. Most importantly, why are you selling it now, when it looks like you've put so much into it?
