thanks fbksurferjoe. I don't think I will ever truly understand electricity, but I have been learning. I used pretty heavy gauge, quality wire for most everything and every circuit has at least one fuse. I tried to keep it as clean and simple as I could. Spoiler alert... I find out later that my brand new battery was sulphated. This should have been obvious in retrospect, but that's how it goes when you try to learn as you go.
Oh, and thanks for watching. We just released our first episode from Mexico, https://youtu.be/r7IL9FzesE8 where we continue to show how inept we are:)
Oh good glad you figured it out, probably sat on the shelf too long at the store. There are some good battery chargers that combat sulfated batteries. Ctek makes a few that have a specific cycle that reconditions batteries, says in the manual specifically takes care of sulfation. I live up in Riverside on your way back if you are still having issues, stop by and I will help you with it.

Thanks fbksurferjoe. This is why I love this forum. Everybody is just trying to have a good time and help each other get out there and have a good time too.
I think we have it figured out with a couple of new Optima yellows wedged in the space I had designed for 1 big Max Tank. It's a little rigged up, but not bad for an on-the-road fix.

@traveling2getherjournal how are you guys liking your arb awning? Is it the 2500x2500 one? I see that you have the bug room for it. How does it do in wind/ rain? Have you ever wished that you went with the full room as opposed to the screen room? Thanks!

it is the 2500x2500. Overall, I like the awning. Setup/breakdown is easy and quick and it is still water proof after 1 year of use as long as you don't let the water pool on top. With guy lines it holds up to decent winds. Im guessing we've had it out in 25knot winds, maybe more.

Down sides: You must use guy lines for any stability. Without them a light breeze could knock it down and break it.
It wants to pool water on top due to design. The solution we've found is dropping 1 corner of the awning. If you drop both, water will still pool and break the aluminum arms(trust me).

As far as the bug room is concerned: It is great to have in the buggy tropics. It can make the difference between a place being nice or unbearable, but it is a bit of a pain to setup/breakdown. Similar amount of work to setting up a basic tent and the same down sides as a tent. You have to roll it up, shove it in it's bag, and store it in your rig. If it's raining, than it is probably wet and muddy. Now you have to deal with a wet, muddy thing in your rig and setting a wet, muddy thing up later. It does fine in the wind as long as the awning is setup well. If it is really windy, maybe some weight at the bottom.

We are happy we went with the screen room since we spend most of our time in the tropics at the beach, but we would have liked the full room at elevation in Mexico. It was cold! I don't know, but I suspect the full room would probably do better in the rain as well since a light breeze will blow the rain into the side of the bug net and can blow right through.
If you have a rig like ours, where you need outdoor living space for your kitchen, I would go with the full room. If you can hang inside your rig comfortably and are not reliant on outdoor space, I would go screen room, or neither.

Bit of a ramble, hope it helps

One idea, I use a dry bag for kayaking to store my rain fly and awning room. If wet, the bag keeps it all inside till I can dry it when the weather turns!

That's a good idea. ARB gives you a pretty high quality stuff sack and I have a spot where I keep it so it won't cause me any trouble, but thats a good idea I will keep in mined for the future.
