This is my first post here as I am venturing into the expedition RV side of things. I usually hang out in ADVrider.com but the focus there is more on motorcycles than on expedition-type RVs. So please excuse my bluntness for starting life at Expeditionportal.com here with a maybe unusual trade offer:
This bike has been built and extensively tested for the sole purpose of doing a once-in-a-lifetime 6 week/13,000mls trip across the continent from Southern Ontario to Alaska. Now, after nearly 5 years of planning and testing and 6 months to go to attend the D2D Rally, unfortunately, this trip will not happen: my best friend and riding partner recently died in a freak accident (hotel explosion during his vacation) and that had me re-assess my life: dual sporting has become of secondary importance to me.
The trip itself will still be done within the same time frame and around the same time, but with my wife as my trusted partner and not on motorcycles.
At this point in time, I am interested to trade my bike for a more expedition-type car/vehicle/RV, e.g. a Toyota Chinook 4x4, or Bonanza or Bandit, preferably with the 22R engine and standard gearbox or something else in the 10-18ft range, e.g. a Toyota Sunrader 18ft 4x4. The vehicle had to be in excellent condition, clean and not abused, something you have used and cared for for many years and that you could invite your mother-in-law to live in! RV/expedition-type travel was always on our mind, so why not start a little bit earlier than planned!
Once you have read the ad and the detailed logbooks of the built you will understand why I would only be entertaining trades in the $8000 value range (if you need to ask me if I wanted to sell, make me an offer I can't refuse). Every possible preventive maintenance has been done to all parts of this bike in order to allow a trip of around 15,000mls without breakdown or even minor disturbances. No stone has been left unturned to uncover any weaknesses or potentials for breakdown. Not that this is a 100% guarantee that nothing won't happen but chances are, it won't.
So please read on about the bike that I have available for trade (please use this link to ask any questions ...):
(Spare) Parts included with the sale (valued at approx. $1100):
