I use my trailer for mostly running brush out to my brothers farm or other odds and ends, it has on 30" tires and i have a matching spare, my question is that i found a doughnut spare with the correct lug pattern and would be alot easier to carry when i know i won't be going offroad. Would it cause major sway issues if I only carried it for a spare?

If you run a smaller diameter it will cause the trailer to crab walk. If you only wanted to run it to the closest place to repair the full size tire it would work but on a long haul I wouldn't recommend it.
