Two things. Fog lights and high beams. They just seem useless on my truck.

Fogs were an aftermarket kit, and I can hardly tell the difference when I turn them on. Thinking of swapping on some LED pods.

High beams are frightening. I can't see a thing with them on. Kind of recall having this issue on the '02 before the HID retrofit.

While mine are underwhelming, I wouldn't call it frightening. I'm looking at trying the LEDs from vleds when I pop in new housings - and if those have nice beam pattern and don't cause glare problems for others, I'll just go that way, otherwise HID retrofit all the way.

Not a whole lot of new stuff happening here. I took a tumble down the stairs and messed up my bad knee pretty good. Starting to think it's high time I move somewhere with fewer steps.. Trying to cleanup some wiring connections when I can, but the colder weather is bringing the pain.

Sucks about the fall. Hope you are ok. Should look into hid for your fog lights. Get some 3k hid and be yellow.

Kick panel courtesy lights installed a few weeks back, 1-1/2" grommet mount led.

Picked up a bunch of these A-series clones. Side by side with the real one I couldn't see a difference. Figured a hood light was in order.
Mounted here away from heat is nice and bright over the battery area and gives good glow through the engine bay.

I just stuck the wiring there for now. I'm hoping I can route it that way later though.

Close call of the week award... That rebar was touching the tire.

And, snow...

Haven't been able to get back to doing much. Damn knee doesn't want to heal up.

Hey, this thread just broke the one year mark. I barely broke 8k miles in that year. Kind of depressing actually. I really need to get out more.

I was bored yesterday, so I made a projector retrofit with a spare headlight. Tried experimenting with a different color scheme, mostly it's all I had lying around.

Oven cleaner... Wow, that stuff dissolved all the chrome in about 15 minutes. Also, a 3/4" led bullet light fits perfect inside that marker light assembly.

Making a few updates here and there..

I felt the lights I put in were a little underwhelming, so I upgraded.. These are BRIGHT. New on the bottom.
They are so bright I decided to wire up some resistors and and made them dual brightness so now they function as brake/taillights. I'm going to make the top set signals.

I noticed most of the heat shrink on the custom cable ends was falling apart and I'd found some encapsulating heat shrink on ebay.
This stuff is awesome. It's pretty much rock solid when it cools so it should reduce stress on those connections.

Cleaned up the battery area some. Used the top post for the Blue Sea ACR for alternator charging, side posts to dual buss bar and fuse panel.

Spent a bit too much time on this. I was bored.. It'll be used to organize the wiring better between the overhead switch panel in the cab and the relays under the center console.
I've been using quick connects but that's sloppy and hard to work with. This way everything is wired up in advance and all you need to do is connect one of six screws and plug a fuse in.

I finally got around to putting a new floor in place. I needed something heavier that could hold a bolt or screw. I put 1/2" foam insulation underneath. Hopefully that settles over time.
I also decided to try some self-adhesive floor tile rather than deal with trying to keep the wood looking nice. Much easier to keep clean and it was fairly cheap.

I think I'm finally content with my sink setup.. There's a three gallon reliance desert patrol that sits inside and the whole setup locks in place over the passenger wheel hump.
It removes in 30 seconds or less if I want to use it outside the truck.

That's a skinny bed. I don't think I could do it lol. I share the entire bed with my girlfriend and it's barely doable lol. Love the sink. I need one myself.

Haha... It's set up as a bench there, but with the other half installed it's 32" wide. Still a lone ranger setup though.

Got some new tires yesterday. Went with the Firestone Destination AT in 265/70/17. The local Firestone had a good price and offered a buy three get one deal.

Of course, realized my steering rack appears due for replacement... I'm currently shopping around for pricing. Not sure I want to do this one yet.

Any suggestions?

Rock Auto has a reman BBB rack for $258 with a $150 core or a new AAE for $324.
NAPA has a reman BBB rack for $334 with $220 core.

Toyota of Dallas seems to have Toyota Reman for $351.. I'd have to verify this.
