This is what you would pay for a 4x4 van with a pop top and similar build.
You are right the land cruiser is better. Not even a remotely similar comparison, but alrighty...

lol for sure -- sprinter 4x4 doesn't really do trails, its too big, too tall, lean angle etc.You are right the land cruiser is better.
I was more trying to make the point that if people are selling their Ford E series conversations that are built out similar to your troopie for $35-100K, why is $65K so far fetched for people. You are right though that is probably closer to this Jeep build than a van. https://www.expeditionportal.com/fo...rangler-unlimited-–-overland-ultimate.201901/lol for sure -- sprinters 4x4 doesn't really do trails, its too big, too tall, lean angle etc.
4x4 Sprinters are awesome for freeway road trips, but they're not anywhere near in the same class capability wise -- the 4x4 system is good for snow and ice, but its not made for real offroading .. as far as "expedition" goes.
the 70-troopy is more comparable to g wagon 460/461 diesel Benz.
it all depends on where you wanna go and what kinds of trips you want to do -- can't compare a 4x4 truck to a van, that can go in a dirt/snow a little bit.

The only reason why you won't get close to your asking price (from any Expo member, i bet some guy in seattle would talk you down to sub $50k) is because its an AU right hand drive, same scenario with Defenders.. They just don't sell, especially for that kind of change.. ive imported and sold 9+ pop top 1991-94' Troopies all LHD, dual tanks, Trakka tops, sub 150,000km, and kitted interior- all sold for sub $48,000... If I'm not mistaken the one that Nitro Axles built sold for sub $45,000 as well, and theirs was absolutely cherry.. A RHD PT Troopy isn't a vehicle you can make a $40k profit on, its not a sprinter![]()
Driving on the "more scenic" side doesn't add value or rarity to the vehicle in any way, and people usually state what they sold theirs for as a comparison to gauge value.. Look at price comparisons of actual sold vehicles in the US for LHD and RDH Defenders and troopies. RHD 300TDI sells for $28k, LHD sells for $85k+, same goes for troopies, Hilux, fords, etc... When it comes to Defenders and troopies LHD is more desirable because they are much more rare as well.
Driving on the right side in the US actually kinda sucks, if you look at the bigger picture.
