Trouble codes

Has any one had problems with the 05+ Frontier's exhaust, many the trouble code PO-420 (catalyst efficiency below threshold Bank 1). I have a 2006 with 86,200 miles on it. What do ya'll think it is. Oh my gas milage sucks right now to and at 81,000 my passager side catalytic converter blow out. Thanks for any help.

What do you mean blow out?
P0420 is nether a bad converter, a bad o2 sensor, or an exhaust leak. The passenger (right side) is bank 1.

Ok I mean parts of the cat blow out the exhaust and now my other cat is going bad. And I went to Nissan and they said it will be $1280 to fix it. This really sucks

That does suck. converter are expensive and it is not uncommon for both converter to go out around the same time.
What code did you get the first time?

My dad's Titan's exhuast did the same thing around 50,000 miles though his exhaust also fell off at the cat flange. Price to replace at the Nissan garage was similar to your quote. We replaced it with a Magnaflow Cat back stainless system and used Random Technology cats. Total cost was around $600 or thereabouts.

I cant remember the first code that came up. Im about ready to just go ahead and replace all O2 sensors and the cat at once so I can be done with it. I have a guy here that will send my cat to KY and will rebuild it. The work would be about the same as if I were to let the dealer do it. I need to get it done soon though cause I was told that my back pressure could suck parts of the cat back into the cylinder which is never a good thing.
