There seems to be a sever lack of objectivity amongst many Toyota owners (and Ford owners, and Ram owners, and GM owners.... ), especially in this thread.
Age old problem.

If you actually read the whole comment, what I was demonstrating by making that comparison is that the Tundra is obviously still relevant and desired in today's market, despite its age, whereas the Ranger was most definitely not well received at the end of its previous production run.
My point is that age is not the sole determining factor in how a vehicle performs or fares in the market or on the road. Some people are willing to buy older vehicles, likely because there are other advantages (perceived or real) which make up for the age.
Where did you hear the 3.5 TT rumor? Link? Will they continue to offer a V8 as well?I think the Ranger is a great example of a vehicle that stopped keeping with market demands and got left by the wayside.
The great news is that in the next year or so we will see a redesigned Tundra, rumored to sport a 3.5TT, and an updated F150 and then we can start this discussion all over.
He can’t stand Toyota yet he keeps buying them. He makes all kinds of claims and then never backs them up. I take everything he says with a grain of salt. Whenever there is a Toyota vs something thread he comes
Crawling out of the dark corners and acts as if his opinion matters more than anyone else’s. Then he makes the claim to have owned a bunch of Toyota’s.
So much for intellectual honesty...
Fuel economy? Well if we go by calculated averages, instead of big fish tales from biased owners, the new Tacoma does in fact get better fuel economy than most in the 1/2 ton segment (minus some of the diesel offerings). The only gasoline 1/2 ton that even comes close is the F-150 w/ 2.7l ecoboost. But to suggest that all or even many of the gasoline 1/2 tons have found some magical way to get better mpg's than gasoline midsized trucks is wishful thinking on your part.
And by the way, none of the gasoline 1/2 tons are averaging anything close to 22 mpg in real world driving. The Tundra isn't very efficient; the other 1/2 tons are only slightly better.
Thank you. Yes, I heard the next Tacoma and Tundra will be sharing a platform as well.@Todd n Natalie These are the links I've seen but for the most part it's still just hearsay and rumors. The Lexus forum seems to have people that nerd out on this stuff, but again none of it's confirmed yet. Toyota is shifting to a new architecture and the word on the street is that the LC300 (supposedly debuting this year) will be a good indicator of what to expect engine wise in the Tundra.

So now, the manufacturers who are legally bound to produce fuel economy numbers are incorrect and we should go by random people's calculations of their fuel mileage because people are infallible but the laws are not.
You dont make any sense and all of your arguments are awful.
Why dont you just instead say "Im a homer and Toyota can do no wrong." At least then people will know not to waste their time on any dialogue with you.
In light of recent history ala VW, FCA, and now Ford; I am going to say we should be leery of these manufacturer fuel economy figures. So now, the manufacturers who are legally bound to produce fuel economy numbers are incorrect
The next couple years should be interesting with a new Tundra, tacoma, f150 and possibly Ranger in 2022?
Whoa you think laws are infallible?

My point exactly as all of them have had to pay tremendous fines due to their false claims.
Right. I forgot about the Frontier. I didn't know Nissan was refreshing the Titan already. That seems fast considering how long they waited to update the previous gen Titan. Plus the Frontier, 370Z and the last Gen Xterra stayed the same for a long time.Refreshed Titan coming soon and new Frontier in 2021
