That would work, but shipping might be a mother and local laws can get very sticky here. Certain states don't allow engine swaps on later model vehicles (I believe VA is in this category) even if the emissions are lower. You can replace the engine, just not put in a different engine. Mind you, someone who's got much more knowledge than me can correct me if I'm wrong, but I remember reading about that somewhere on one of these forums. But in terms of overall cost, finding the drivetrain here for something that'd work and then doing the SAS and changing out the entire drivetrain, while probably a bit more expensive, might be easier long term due to better availability of parts, no?
I'd also guess that we don't see SFA vehicles from Nissan here. The ride would be too truckish for those target markets.
