UPDATE: I still don't have my 3k back, Paypal says it isn't cleared yet from his account, SLC police have been contacted, local police reached out to them today. I was able to refuse all but 1 item that was ordered, my restocking fees and what not are mitigated to some degree but this 3k is obviously the scam, guess needed a short term no interest loan and decided I was the guy to give it. Thanks to the 3 people from SLC that have messaged me privately about various methods to work the problem locally, right now I'm just waiting on the police and paypal to talk and we'll go from there.

The dude was on the site just after midnight this morning. Since he's not posting he's obviously avoiding things. I'd say it's time to bring the hammer down on him. He's had the opportunity to say "Sorry XYZ is happening and I'm trying to get your money back" and he hasn't. Crush the SOB and maybe he'll learn some manners.

I honestly can't stand this stuff. Good luck bro and hopefully it all works out. I bought an '18 ORP 4runner 4 months ago and found it on this forum. The guy was amazing to work with from beginning till the end. Things will work out at the end and maybe this is all good it didn't go through, it wasn't meant to be. I may also have some local enforcement contacts as well in SLC area if you need me to dig around with some people I know.
This is a civil matter- the local/state police aren't going to do anything.
I hope he refunds the money, but if he doesn't, you're gonna have to do yourself through small claims court.

Something has happened from the small amount of noise that's been made as PayPal has provided this update "The refund that you received was issued as an eCheck. This happens when the recipient does not have enough money in their PayPal balance to cover the refund." so I'll be waiting for that to clear I guess. Awesome.

This matter is closed I guess. The sellers 3k refund finally cleared according to paypal and he sent $60 without me asking for any amount to cover my time and expenses, just assuming $60 was enough to cover someone, anyone's time and effort and overnight fees and restocking and what-not. Thanks to everyone who reached out offering to help, I guess this is all done. Sigh. Bleh.
