I’m working on it. I just don’t want to deal with a dealer with very bad reputation and shady tactics.
I understand vehicle sales folks are ******. Something I read once, how do you know your dealership personnel are lying... their lips are moving.
Good hunting.

Are they factory LED ?

Used the fixture as a roof pass-through, yes, but piggyback for power, not so sure.

I dont be surprised if the clearance lights are supplied by minimun guage wiring and on a circuit that wont tolerate much added load.
Im with you. There’s no way I’d use the clearance light circuitry for off road lights. While I could see using the pass through as being tempting, I’d likely refrain from it as well. Just run greater risk of causing a leak that won’t be covered under warranty. I’d run the cable up a bedside rack or the camper, and run to the roof that way.

I’d be less inclined to work with a bad dealer on a used car. But for a new car, still have your guard up and look over every document twice…, but I’d give it a shot if it’s the truck that will work for you. You can take it to another dealer you trust post purchase for any issues.

Seems like easy ready connections in case I want lights in front of the rack down the road.

As others have said, don't do it. They will not provide enough power to run the EXPO EXTREME roof lights you're imagining. They could be used to trigger relays, but then you'd still have to run larger gauge conductors for power and end up doing the work you're hoping to avoid.

Also, no amount of discount is worth the headache to work with a dealer with those kind of ratings. Put another way, how much would they have to pay you to put up with the spectacular BS that awaits?

Also, also - as other parents have already said, getting out > perfect setup. But, I would be lying if I said it doesn't help lol! Our kiddo did not sleep anywhere, ever. We had a similar setup to what you're aiming for but in the end, it was still suboptimal. We just finished the "perfect" camper and it works great. The main reason it is successful though is because we have camped with our baby in a suboptimal setup to evolve to what has been pretty great.

Congrats! Looks like you got a great deal on a truck!
Are you going to keep updating this thread with the build?
