Sorry For the lack of updates. We have had very limited Internet and cell connectivity and when I finally find something my time is spent completing my homework for the week. Nothing like taking classes while on vacation!
We just had some great random Thai food in Lucerne, but when pulling out of the driveway we encountered a loud pop in the steering. Upon further inspection it seems to be happening only while turning extreme driver and is now pulling to that side a bit. We are making a beeline for Sacramento in hopes of finding a mechanic to take a look. If anyone knows of a reliable one in that area we'd sure appreciate the reference.
It's been great stopping to talk to people about the van. Just ran into a lady who's son found a pop top for her to buy up in Oregon and she was so excited. We saw one other Astro GT up in Ft. Bragg.
Glad to see an update but I totally understand the desire to do homework first...or heck just to enjoy the trip without the hassle of updated us couch surfers
I hope the pop isn't something major...maybe tie rod end and a quick swap/alignment gets you back on the road.
We are back from our trip, and I'm catching up on life and what-not! The mechanical issue seems to have been due to shop-error, but more on that later. I'm slowing blogging about our adventure, but here are the two most recent posts:
