Just found out about this, hopefully SuperVan will find a good home. It's an awesome van!

That is a serious list of parts. I wish I had the $$$ because that sounds awesome.

I need more seats, though.

I would be all about that van even though Silver would not be my first choice of color.I have looked at it again and again on the U-Joint site as my dream van for the day when I can switch from old Chevy Pathfinder vans to a Newer Ford Diesel/U-Joint Van..... Is there any chance I won the Lotto last night?

Chris or ??? do the 6.0 vans have a Tachometer in the dash?

And I know it has been asked before but is there an intercooler for the 7.3 vans?

6.0 has tach,
7.3 has no intercooler

Very Nice van, but the buy it now price is retarded IMO

The price is very reasonable given the condition of the van and all the work that has been done to it.

I presume when you say "retarded" you are mean that the buy now price was set too low?

Do you think it's too high?

Sorry, strong wording that I shouldn't have used, but now it's quoted there is no point in changing it.
Yup, @ 50k, I would say is way too high in this market. But just my opinion, nothing more.
I would say the price of the base van and Chris's conversion will dictate the price, the other parts are just icing, and resale value is very low on those parts.
I really hope the owner get's a few people that "must have it" and that they will drive the price up for him, would be nice to see it go for the buy it now price. But @ 50k you are in SMB territory and the average buyer will assume that you get a whole lot more for the same price, and better resale.

Sometimes I say retarded as something good :)

I hear ya on the price. I know better than anyone that this van has a ton of good parts, and was built for the long run. I also know exactly how much was invested, and he's taking a hit @ 50K, especially since it's only been complete for 6 months.

WOW that thing sure does have a lot of goodies on it. Def only going to appeal to a small group of people. I just sold my 03 7.3 Quigley CCV Van and i think i was lucky and it sold within 3 weeks. I got lots of inquires from people specifically looking for a 7.3 diesel so hopefully the owner can capitalize on that.

The underside of that van is sexy

And WAY more "real world friendly" than a SMB. Those guys just don't understand the concept of rain, gravel roads, mud, or salt.

If I had the money I would buy it in a heartbeat, buy some new take-off seats from discount van, and make it the family truckster and weekend warrior car camping machine. But I don't have the cash and no way could I get financing in manageable terms.

I don't know, maybe I'm just old fashioned. I was brought up that talking about money was in bad taste. If someone bought an expensive house or car etc. that was up to them.

I feel the same way about items that are for sale on this forum or are referred to on this forum. If it's a little rich for your own taste that's OK, you don't have to buy it. If the price is low and it's a deal, that's also OK, buy it.

It's really a matter between the buyer and seller. If the product doesn't sell then the price was set too high. If the seller needs to move the product and sets a below market price it's a deal for the buyer.

At the same time everyone is entitled to their own opinion, but I believe opinion has to be accompanied by rationalization. In that way your system of valuation can be contrasted with the readers system.

Your right, I should have ******** on the buy it now price. But I said it, and explained why I thought that way, so no need to cover this any more. I was wrong.
But I never questioned the money sunk into the project by the owner.

That is an amazing van and probably better than an SMB in certain areas. I would love to have that in my driveway. I just hope that is really not the reason he is selling that. Join ROTC (Saved me about 130K) or hope darn well that she gets a good enough job when she is done to buy him a new one and he is not to old to enjoy it at that point. Education is an investment....sadly usually at that point in our lives it is usually a bad one. I had a great education and learned a TON but don't think it was worth 1/4 what was paid for it (by you...thanks :)).
