UJOR Build Thread

I went with a 4" UJOR lift with 33's on my 03 7.3, 4.10 gearing. It was a tough call, but after 10 years in a 2wd E150 with a 2" lift and 235's I couldn't imagine needing more altitude. I also thought I'd be doing lot's of highway and mostly 4x4 snow driving in the mountains or pushing sand near the beach, rather than rock-crawling. Highway performance and gas mileage was a concern so I was worried about going too big on the tires. After putting 35K on her since the conversion I'm absolutely thrilled the way the the van drives on the highway, two fingers going 85/90 on the freeway, corners amazing. Gas mileage dropped by 3-4mpg initially, but a DP Tuner, diamond eye exhaust, and scan guage(learned a lot about engine performance with that) got me back to 15 hwy average. Recently took off my Trac Racs and solar panel and i'm averaging 17hwy. Now that I have 4x4 I'm much more interested in off roading! One limiting factor to the 4" is the amount of space between the diff and engine crossmember. I haven't driven the 6" with trac bar, but the 4" turning radius is a lot wider in 4x4. I just talked to Chris about coming up with an estimate for a switch to the 6" in order to get a little more travel off road, as now I know first hand how well these rigs drive on the highway.
Might cut my crossmember a littler more first......

One leaves, one arrives!

The 94 SMB has gone home, happy with the results on a great build. 6" lift, single 5100's, Stage 2 front axle w/4.56, Stage 2 Sterling with 4.56 and a true trac, NV271, UJ front bumper, Aluminess rear tire carrier, BFG AT tires on pro Comp 7069 series wheels.

And the arrival! Super nice van here for a Dequiglification job.

The 1st one is that we're making the switch to Fox shocks!

We've been loyal Bilstein guys for a long long time but just can't get the shocks we need. We're using the Fox 2.0 res in place of the 5160's 1st, then we'll start with the standard 2.0's to replace the 5100's.

Hey Caleb, I know you are running 33's, but what tire? I might need some 33's that will "snow and Go" (hwy)!

Now I'm glad I delayed buying my kit from you Chris!!! You probably remember when I kept asking you a way to figure mounting the Fox instead of the Bilstein... Glad you worked it out so I don't have to :D

Well done Mate!

Cheers
Mr. D

FOX does not make a shock for your Quigley - there are no part numbers for them.

You can get a universal shock if you can figure out the correct lengths and then figure out the valving.
