I haven't used the Sherpa camper in a year since V4 was torn down. I debated on whether to setup the new suspension to handle the weight, decided that I don't want to deal with that so its trailer time! Now I'll be able to pull it behind V4, V7 or the Transit. We have the design done, material got cut up today. Trying to keep it low for stability but still functional since it was designed to work on the flatbed. I have an idea for some ramps that will also help with leveling. I'll post pics as we make progress.

Is that a sawmill? Looks like it still needs the blade guides.

Is it just the angle or does that rig have a little rake to it. I like it. I've been thinking about jacki'n the back of mine up a couple inches with the spacers.

Yea its a bit booty high, 0 miles on it. They'll come down a bit once its been driven.

I love building trailers. Custom ones that is. They're the most fun.

Can't wait to see what it looks like.

Here was the last one I built for my old TD camper.

Most of the motor was missing, wiring a mess, rust, bad body repairs in the past, would take a small fortune to be road worthy. Its been sitting at the shop covered up for ~2 years, owner said get rid of it & I don't have time to deal with selling or pulling parts so it went to scrap. It was actually the owners idea to drive on it so we just did as he wished :) I just needed more parking lot space since we're running out!

If somebody gets butt hurt about us driving up on a car they've never seen I don't want them as customers anyway.

Not my approach nor am I butt-hurt, I still wouldn't have done it. A lack of time/space doesn't seem like a reason to break it more when parts are getting harder to find and there's such a cult following for those things.

Lack of time/space means it was going to scrap regardless.

Final touches on VA7.3. Sliding door extension, interior panels, few odds & ends before I shoot video, take pics and drive it more!

Hey Chris, stupid question but is the front drive shaft length pretty much a standard length depending on lift height? I would like to order my shaft before assembly for less down time now that all parts have arrived.

There are always variables with the lift height, flange sizes, etc. I do have spec sheets on all of the vans we build here and can send you some dims but I prefer to get the rig on the ground and measure.

Figured as much but was hoping I could get a jump start. Too quickly running out of time to get everything done before the snow flys and I'm stuck. Wish me luck, I need it.
