Yep, exactly. it has so many custom parts on it, I'm not comfy with selling it and being married to the new owner. It would take the right person to appreciate and care for it, making the selling process even more difficult!
I now understand why you’re going the route you are.

I’ve had people comment on what a great bush beater my ‘74 Fj40 would make.
After building a new floor, frame replacement, V8 engine conversion, transmission & T-case replacement/rebuild, FF rear end, 4 wheel disc brake conversion, On-board air, rear air bags, retrofit newer hardtop, etc., etc.
Just because a shiny paint hasn’t been a high priority, it doesn’t mean I could bear to see it run into the ground. I’d rather it see it rot than see it trashed.

Beautiful & productive weekend here, the cooler weather has me pumped for some camping! Took V4 to Rigs n coffee, it usually falls on a weekend that I have kids so this is my 1st time out in a while. Nice crowd.

Old pic of my 1st van popped up, good memories! This was Azusa Canyon, 04 or 05.

V4 2.0. Swapping the bed, rear suspension and a bunch of other goodies from V4 to the new chassis. Parting out the rest of V4.

Sorry if I'm being too nosy, but does NC give you any crap about registering and driving an "incomplete" vehicle? TN is telling me they won't do it. Obviously this isn't a big deal if a cutaway was previously a box truck or whatever.

Not to my knowledge but I'll find out soon! I've never had a problem with V4 but it was an ambulance in a previous life. I did have problems with insurance, wound up changing to a commercial policy which worked out better anyway.

Beautiful low mileage 2007 5.4 in for a conversion, we didn't hesitate to get started!

7.3 Chateau is on the ground, we've been chiseling away at this build when we can since it was a "filler" job that wasn't on our schedule. Still have some goodies to add like paint matched flares, side steps & a roof rack. Also have to finish up the fuel bowl delete. More details & specs in he next few weeks.
