Thought about it many times! Different exhaust systems, batteries, thats about the only thing that makes sense to me!

.... and of course none of those hundreds of extra frame holes are ever in the right place when mounting something new.

Like Mudhipy. You always get the stance spot on.

More CCV mess with the exhaust. They cut & clocked it to clear the rear storage (more on that later) and it looks terrible. Holes in the welds too. Before:

****** ?

I thought he just hacked a giant hole in the side of the van with an axe like Paul Bunyan would have done. Now the late night ginsu knife info-mercial test to the tail pipe? NICE !!!

I've seen some $/ˆ†¥ work before but this is a hole new underground sub-level of hackery goin on here. Did he use a beer can with a coat hanger to put it back together ? or was it the ole battery jumper cable coat hanger welder together tool ?

Have a few things to punch out on Monday and she's ready to get some miles.

Now back to V4............ The frame horns have been killing me to look at so off they go.

Minnesota salt hasn't been to nice to this frame that I spent so much time cleaning and painting! On the menu for this visit: Crossover steering and the new trac bar setup, on board air kit, rear airbags and a general clean up. This van will be with us at the SE Overland Rally so it has to look good!

The seats are back for V4 too! I had a local shop re cover them and replace the foam, they did a great job.

Finished up the front bumper jig yesterday, and another UJ bumper is almost ready to Ship out. This will speed up the process a bit!

V4 is getting all sorts of parts here & there. Wiring, brake lines, etc. We installed the 4" turbo back exhaust from Diamond Eye Exhaust, turned out really nice!

Hi Chris,

Any more progress on V4's cab ?

Been looking around for a suitable donor up here in Canada to do a similar build next year but there like hen's teeth ! Any suggestions for on-line hunting for one from south of the boarder ?

Also been looking at the Phoenix campers, the XP is very nice but way out of my price range... however a bare bones Phoenix gives plenty of home build options whilst still allowing us to get out & enjoy it. Will also be able to have a little lower bed height as your not tied to the fixed distance like the XP.

Keep those pic's coming !

I'll be visiting the body shop tomorrow to make sure we're still on track for my deadline next week. I was looking at eBay today, found a low mileage cab chassis, they're out there!

Here's a pic of the recently updated "floating" airbag setup. The bag rests on the pad @ ride height, slightly compressed. When the suspension droops out (as pictured) there is no restriction from the bag. A win/win situation!

I've been running the bags on Vanaconda like this for 2 years now, no problems.
