Spec van video!

Looks killer! I’ve been following along on social media as you’ve been putting it together. I noticed you went 4.88 gears vs the usual 4.56 I see you guys usually pair with the 5.4 vans. Any particular reason for that?

Thanks! A little more grunt for the driving it will be doing most of the time here in the mountains. With the tuner it feels great. ~2400 RPM at 70 too.

Right on, I’ve got a 5.4/4R75 van I plan on converting to 4x4 with your kit sometime in the future. I live in AZ and spend a lot of my time driving up to elevation (Phoenix to Flagstaff etc). Think 4.88s are the way to go? I may end up pulling a small enclosed trailer from time to time too.

I like it. I know US highways are long and flat (especially in the west), but I've never thought we needed giant-ass vans geared so that they cruise at 85mph. Much better for me to be geared a bit lower when I hit the hills, especially when I'm right at GVWR...

I hope this isn't a stupid question but...

Is there any fundamental difference between converting an E-350 RWD and an F-350 RWD to 4WD?

Thanks

For sure, the frames are completely different so nothing is interchangeable. I've seen guys convert 99-04 F series trucks to 4wd with mainly factory parts, not sure on any other generation.
