Ultimate 2 car garage

Okay, I'm cheating here. A bit over budget. But not grossly so such that this combo is certainly attainable today with different examples of each in the used market.

This was my way to cover the broadest spectrum of capability and capacity along with outright speed and handling. Personal opinion, but I think it'd be hard to match the breadth of coverage represented here. And both fully practical for daily use no less.

'06 Lexus LX470 - 33's with hydraulic suspension to lift 2" or lower 2" on demand.

'03 911 Turbo - 650hp, 4wd, and traction enough to damage internal organs. O, and it still has back seats with a child seat so I can drop off my daughter daily.

Just did a quick search and actually this combo is doable for $75k. ~$30k for the LX, and ~$45k for the 911

This is exactly why I started the thread. Good job finding two excellent vehicles that serve a multitude of purposes and fairly close to the budget.

Well done. Bonus points for pictures.

I don't buy new cars, to much depreciation. So for me,

Used CTS-V wagon - I like sleeper cars.
Full size crew 1/2 ton 4x4.

No such thing as a 2 car garage. ha ha. But we pretty well have our ultimate garage now. Our JKU built for overlanding adventures and our 2007 Mazda 5 GT, all kitted out for on road trips. Both are extremely comfortable and capable for what we use them for. Other vehicles, see the list below.

It was fairly easy to fit two MINIs and the Goldwing in. A little harder to fit the 2-door JK, Conqueror, and a MINI. Impossible to fit the teardrop, JKU, and FIAT. So the JK sleeps outside.

Oh yeah, never enough garage space. I also own a 1987 Jaguar xj12 vanden plas, and a 2003 audi A4 cabrio. Plus all in my signature. obviously a few of the rigs can't fit in the garage space provided. I have a motorcycle maintenance shop with paint booth, powdercoating system etc and only one rig, more than likely the Jag will live in that shop. need more space! Ha ha.

Here are the choices for my garage. My 2013 Jeep MOAB and a 2015 Polaris Slingshot. I hope to have the Slingshot sometime next Summer.

I'm probably set right now, although the Vette really needs to go. The JKUR has about 50K in it and the 2003 Vette might bring 25K.

You kids and your new fangled shiny cars.

I'd have to go with my 91' Bronco ($5K in excellent shape), and then probably a late 90's crown vic as a gas saver.

Bronco: When stock, still sits higher than some lifted jeeps, a 302 engine that doesn't know when to quit (even when not working right), a suspension that doesn't break (again, stock), factory limited slip diff in the rear, push button 4WD, Warn hubs, hidden bumper winch, CB radio, custom GPS navigation system, CD/DVD player w/ drop down TV screen and more than enough cargo capacity to get me where I need.

Crown Vic: police package for engine and suspension and any modifications I deem desirable.

Total cost so far, about $20K.

And since we're all pic whores:

I've had about 50 Crown Vics as company cars and they all got better gas mileage than my Jeep...
I've got a soft spot for the venerable Crown Victoria. Noble workhorse that she is.

Why do you hate that poor little girl's legs?

Don't feel too bad for her. On the contrary, she much prefers the 911. Even at 4 yrs old, without having any context or understanding of cars, she's drawn to it and enjoys the experience. Its back seat, while definitely being a +2 arrangement, is not bad by +2 standards and just about par with Integra's and Prelude coupes I've experienced in the past. Heck, even my co-workers will want me to drive for lunch and happily jump in the back seats.

Which is the beauty of the 911 Turbo. A real deal sports car, bordering on exotic car by performance measures, yet with enough versatility for daily use.
