I wonder if a plastic sheet like StarBoard would be a decent edging material for wet locations? The adhesive would need to be suitable for HDPE, and the StarBoard would need flame treated to improve surface energy though.

Yes I was thinking of things like that, or PVC.
But I also realised I could cut strips of spare fiberglass and glue that on with epoxy, or korapop. That's my current plan for the bathroom door when I make that the same way.
