Fully Restored only 2000 miles ago This old Landy has had a frame off restoration. New galvanized chassis, axles overhauled, engine fully rebuilt with just barely 2000 miles on it. It is the quietest motor you will ever hear. Starts and runs like a dream. New radiator, plugs and wires, new hoses, new distributor, new pumps, new fuel tanks. The exhaust is insulated, the transmission is smooth and nearly effortless in shifting. My 8 year old daughter sits beside me and shifts for me. Under the bonnet is clean, clean, clean. You can work on it without the fear of getting dirty. Everything was dismantled for restoration. Every thing works perfect as is should.
SPECIAL EQUIPMENT Under the bonnet is a Honda generator for providing electric power while on expedition. No fear of battery going dead because you can boost yourself. There are front mounted 110 and 120 power hookups. In the back there are 110 outlets for running household items. This has dual feul tanks, a 40 gallon water tank that provides water to the sink. Yes, it has running water. Electric refrigerator, a brand new hot plate for cooking, a brand new toilet (campers porta potty) that is stored under cabinet. It has a full roll cage, removable roof for hunting, spotting, or access to the roof top tent. Roof top tent has been used for a 2 week trip. Looks and smells new. It folds out in minutes and is accessed either from inside the truck or from the ladder which either rests on bumper, or on the ground. The tent has rain cover that also covers the trucks roof opening. Comfortably sleeps two adults. Front capstain (winch) with PTO takeoff. 100 feet of brand new rope stored on the spare wheel for winching. 4500lb Rear winch with remote control. 5 Wolf wheels with new Goodyear 235 85R16 tires.
INTERIOR -The interior is tastefully finished grey elephant hide leather. The doors have been covered in Elephant hide up top, and black vinyl down low. New sholder belt seat belts retractable. The dash and doors are trimmed in Oak. The complete dash has been replaced with new. All switches work as they should. Nothing is broken or in need of repair. Has USB hookup for your ipod, with sub and two speakers. Has a new speedo that was installed when the engine and rebuild was completed, trip odometer (You can actually see the gauges at night.), back up light, off road lights that work with high beams, heat that blow nice and hot, defrost, horn that blasts loud, the middle seat folds down and acts as a center cubby and drink holder. The floor in rear is totally stainless steel. It will never rust out. The front floors and bulkhead were replaced with new when rebuilt. Perfect.
EXTERIOR - Painted in battle ship gray. While not a perfect princess, it is made to perform. It is built to last a long long time. You could drive this across continent. There are some scratches and small dings in the doors from people closing the door the incorrect way. It has a touch up kit. So it is not perfect, but darn close. Really really clean. It is made to go on expedition or hunting. Galvanized front bumper, New folding side steps. With dual tanks and water on board you can go anywhere. The undercarriage is as nice as the top side. Yes it does have the few drips nightly as do all LandRover Series. You do have to pay attention when driving it. No power steering, no power brakes, no air conditioning, no power seats, no seat warmers or any of the new crap that fails and costs a whack load to repair. Everyting is made to fix yourself on safari. Yes it is right hand drive. That is what makes it a blast to drive. It is easy. Bonus is you can wig other drivers out when they see your 8 year old appearing to be driving in the other seat. Seriously though, if you have not driven RHD, it is very simple and you will be a natural in about a half hour.
