Looks someone stole that International for $4001.00!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Dang! The front axle alone is worth a lot more than that!

Hope someone on here got it! If so, fess up, and start that build thread.

Did you inspect this vehicle prior to bidding/purchase? just wondered what you found as far as condition..

go over to the Steel Soldiers forum.. You dont see too many FMTV's out in public yet.. You'll get alot of interest..

go ahead and join and look around, then decide if you want to participate or just lurk.. you will have to sign up to see some pic's w/in threads..

http://www.steelsoldiers.com/ check threads on GL pickup along with assorted concerns/horror stories and good experiences, lots of good tips, what to bring w/you when you pickup/how to deal with inspections, licensing, insurance, titles, have it hauled home or drive it, HOA stories, etc....

stay connected in this forum also, especially if you think you might develop an expedition vehicle or fun off road living space.....

Anyone ever seen any of those Man Kat's for sale on government liquidation? I've seen a lot of them in use by the US Army up around Fort Drum NY.

I really didn't get to inspect the truck in person but talked to Kevin at Fort Drum and he gave me a good idea of its condition. Being a 2006 model it was still very new. The extent of the damage was only to the box. Because it weighed in at over 14,000lbs I wasn't going to use it. I am designing a removable 14ft honeycomb composite box (Nida-core) that should be less than 5,000lbs wet with all the comforts of home. My intentions are to shorten the chassis and bring the wheel base down to 161 inches. I've had this expedition rig on the drawing board for over 4 years now. I just couldn't find a chassis with these specs at a price I could justify.

Being an engineer I tend to over build everything and try to weigh all of the small details. I am very open and thick skinned ;) for new ideas and especially unseen pit falls. Let me know what you have in mind good or bad.

Thanks,
Bob.

Damn, $4k?! I would start my own heavy haul/recovery company and make a killing on the beach. :D

Ya, I can't get over the fact the Int. 6X6 went so cheap.

Also, I see that Scania is re-listed, but not sure why someone in the US would buy it.

Oh, and there's another S&S listed...
