UPDATE ON 1967 FJ40

I used a Summit proportioning valve, but it will still lock up the rears first on a panic stop. I would like to change out the valve to a better one. The rear kit was from JT Outfitters.

I used a Man-A-Fre kit for my rears and a Summit proportioning valve, and have the exact same problem. Let us know if you find a better valve, at least one with more adjustment. And I removed the residual valve too.

The rear brackets and discs were from 'Poser' on MUD and the front brackets and discs came from JT Outfitters. I bought all hardware, lines, calipers and the proportioning valve locally. I'll try to find the manufacturer. The '67 is a pain because it has 9mm fittings and a single circuit, so alot of line work has to be done. I think they went to 10mm fittings in '68 so compatability isn't a problem.

There is a lot of info on MUD regarding brake cyllinders. I believe the residual valve does need to be removed because it retains pressure in the lines, not a good thing with discs.

The wheels were purchased thru Toyota. The stock steel wheels I had originally had the riveted centers that don't work with discs. Toyota had 4 welded 15" steel wheels in SoCal for about $125ea. The hubcaps I believe were purchased from SOR by a PO.
