Urban Wildlife

So I currently find myself trapped at "Base Camp". This is pretty much the middle of the Sonoran Desert in the middle of the hot season (July-October). Fortunately, there is always wildlife. Despite that I live in an urban environment, I recognize and appreciate the critters that share my space. In light of this, I provide an oasis for the critters that can use it. Thus far, I've seen a variety of owls, hawks, falcons, songbirds, rabbits, foxes, coyotes and javelina. This thread is about pictures of those less-common visitors.

To start, here is our most recent visitor, we named him "Alice"...


Alice has visited our watering hole several times now, to the dismay of the local flock of Love Birds.

No Hawks lately, but nightly Javalina visits trampling the front yard and tons of quail, doves, hummers. Couple years ago we got this guy in the back yard. He was unbothered by me being 15 ft away taking his pic. Biggest male bobcat I’ve ever seen. Amazing what wanders by here. Maybe hawks we’re not seeing have driven away the Lovebirds in our neighborhood. Haven’t seen any at all this whole year and a couple years ago they were everywhere.

I’ve used “base camp, Grand Canyon” in my signature for about 12 years now, since I live in a rv and it felt like I was always camping, well maybe glamping. 😎

I have not had much urban wildlife that I got pictures of any way, we have had a lot of hawks as of late

The cows sometimes consider themselves wild,
The dog is wild about naps and snacks
The robin family was fun to watch from nest building to hatching, fledging and all flying away.

This little frog really likes the glow in the dark flowers
