Here's the Ice Cream Truck.

Ran away for a test night to my hidden spot in the hills around the San Fernando Valley. five minutes from the freeway and 15 minutes from home.

A couple thoughts from one night:
Have a plan for your middle of the night pee.
Do not hoist yourself up onto the other hatch. Hilarity ensues.
The clamp that holds the support folds up. Remember to fold that before hoisting up or pain ensues.
You do a lot of clambering about so give your self room and tilt the front seat forward.
Thin mattress but I got a great nights sleep.

did you order the painted lifting top and main body of the J30 or just the sides?

Big Fish, awesome rig! Does the J30 have something different around the tub contact area, like a body line?

Yes, it was an addition to the Gen 2 design. It's more of a drip rail-ish profile where the body and top meet. I'm not sure why it was incorporated, form or function maybe.

Also, the 2nd generation units have a raised profile around the latch and tent to assist with water runoff. Same concept, but probably the single most effective improvement that really helped the water tightness.

Very cool, glad to see he took the suggestion on the raised profile. That was the only spot I had water intrusion on mine. Re-tightening the screws around the base seemed to fix it, but that little lip will definitely be a big help.

Latch rubbing side cloth?

Hey guys,

Is it just the angle of this picture, or does the latch rub on the cloth material?

Let us know how the awning works out. I am planning to put one on my J30 when I get it, but was concerned with weight concentrated on the corner when opening and closing.

J30 in the Atlanta area?

I just sold my Sportsmobile. I've long considered the J30. It would be great to see one in person if possible.

I'm in Atlanta but have friends and family all over the Southeast so I could easily turn a J30 viewing into a worthwhile visit. Point being that I'm willing to drive a little to see one.

Thanks in advance to anyone who could help out...

Ultralite I know there will be a j30 at Expo east which is just up in Asheville and it would be a worthwhile trip in other respects as well
