Did you do this on a JK or other model? I want to add one myself, but curious about the CAN-BUS wiring harness - not sure if I can just add it in series to my existing power outlet.
This was in my ZJ. I removed the ignition switched stock lighter outlet and left only the constant hot one in there. I ran my own wiring for the USB outlet, as I wanted it constant hot. Could have used the stock wiring if I changed the connector though.
