This was put up in conjunction with the post I had to sell a new SINGLE Compartment MT60, and I was thinking that I'd put the one that didn't sell into my Sprinter. But it turns out to make more sense to keep this one in the Sprinter where it has worked faithfully and sell only the new one . . . See that post here:
Single compartment Engle MT60

TL;DR VERSION: One moderately used 60 liter (64 quart) Engel compressor chest refrigerator-freezer, Model MT60. Ideal for van and truck-based overland/expedition rigs, as power use is quite low. Runs on AC or DC, and includes both built in and doesn’t need any adapters; you use different plugs. THIS IS THE TWO COMPARTMENT MODEL with a separate “freezer” compartment. Current price from Engel seems to be $1650.
MORE POTENIALLY USEFUL INFORMATION: The unit is 31.1" x 19.3" x 17.4" without the easily detachable handles. It weighs about 85 pounds. Looking on the engelcooler.com website will get you all of the other specs for the unit, including their estimate that the current draw from their special “swing motor” compressor is 40% lower than other compressor fridges and can be expected to be 1 to 2 amps per hour.
The dimensions and rectangular shape are a good thing for an overlander, since it is a good size to put under a bed, bench or cushion, or you can put the top level with a countertop and increase working space.This is what I did in my Sprinter conversion and it’s worked very well.
The unit is used and currently installed in my Sprinter van. It works correctly and has no significant cosmetic issues; the photos in the next post show what issues there are. I am making this used unit available because I have a superfluous new Engel MT-60 single-compartment model (also posted for sale in this sub-forum) that I can drop into the exact same spot. So whichever one someone else wants, single or double compartment, I’ll use the other one.
$600 is the price, which is $250 less than the price of the new single compartment unit I’m selling. Not surprisingly, local pickup only. I'm generally available, so send me a message and we can set up a convenient time for you to look it over.
